Dolly leg and TAILGATE

This is likely a dumb question. But my tailgate hits me electric lifting jack Thats on the trailer any way I can fab something up cuz I can’t put my tail gate down unless I disconnect from the stupid trailer every time. Thx

Get a longer shank. I think mine is either 10" or 12", I can't recall, but it allows me to open my truck's tailgate.

If it's hitting the motor you should be able to turn it and put it to the side.

It’s hitting the buttons that are at the top. I don’t see what the shank difference will do tho? Like have the trailer sit Lower??

Follow Grumpy's advice and turn the unit 15 degrees to the side. When I did mine the bolt holes lined up perfectly. I also found that my jack was held in by large screws NOT bolts. I drilled the holes and put grade 8 bolts in place of the screws. Solved 2 problems at the same time...

If you use the longer hitch shank it put the trailer further away from the truck. They come in 8 inch to 18 inch

I’ll try turning it first see how much Clearence that will give me. But they being drop shank how’s that sit the trailer further back. That’s the odd part I’m not picking up lol

The shank is the horizontal part. The bar that goes into the truck's receiver.

Ahh k I just turned jack and I’d have enough room I just have to drill holes for it to line up properly. Thanks guys.

Ok so I know I’m able to turn the jack 180degrees but I can’t do it unless I drill 3 different holes. So my question is can I rotate the top motor part 180? Thanks.

How about turning it one set of holes, not 180 degrees.

Some units were built so you could turn the motor. Not sure if the newer ones are still made that way.

Naw I tried they don’t line up one hole would but the other 2 would be slight off. That was like 60degree turn.
