That is ABSOLUTELY BRILLIANT!!

I've been trying to get DW to let me put Reflextix in the windows for YEARS. She always said no because of the Cousin Eddie thing. I think I could get her on board with this solution though!

As a modification, I might sew in rare earth magnets; they would hold against the screws for a nice, clean, easy install.

Camper-bob, glad I can help!

I also made one for each of my skylights, and another for my parents’ skylight.
It really helps the AC out during our Texas summers. It’s a noticeable difference.

Ya, I put a piece in my skylight too, but I tried to use command hook & loop strips. It didn't work all that well. It's still up there because my skylight has a shade drawn across it, so the Reflectix is just laying up there. I really need to find a few better solutions for various spots in my camper.

She needs to look at our truly 'Cousin Eddie' thing: When we need to block the light, we tuck a bath towel into the valance to hang down past the glass
After she sees that, maybe she'll let you do the Reflextix mod.

I put on a piece of dark window tint film from the auto parts store.

BroRobin,
On the Jayco high end models the shades are installed between the glass and the screen on the entry /exit doors, but not on all the rest of the windows in the RV. I

No consistancy

I use command Velcro. I did have to sew the pieces of Velcro attached to the cloth and reflectix since the adhesive wouldn’t stick to it. The moulding around the skylights took the adhesive well on the other pieces of Velcro.

You can make one without the fabric liner, but I wanted a little less cousin Eddie.
If I can find my pic, I’ll post it.
I use Reflectix to cover every window and the vents in my rig. I like it dark but it also helps insulate from the heat or cold.

We simply measured out a piece of fabric which matched the interior, sewed some Velcro to it and put it up.
It looks good and the Velcro allows us to remove it when we need more light.

I use padded foil window covers specifically for the entry door window and it stays on with velcro. Canadian Tire sells it.

I use a padded thermal window cover. They sell both sizes. Smaller one for entry door and larger one for rear window.

Window Shades

My roll up/down black window shades have a plastic
strips along the bottom.

I plan to use magnates on both ends of the shades plastic stip to keep shade tight to the windows to keep lighr out. during the summer months when the sun comes up around 5am.

I do the same, but some folks consider this an ugly "cousin Eddie" type of solution.

It doesn't bother me. Been that way so long, it don't even notice any longer.
