It’s going to vary more depending on driving habits especially when you look at 4:10 or even 4:30 like Ford offers but in general it’s about 1-1.5 mpg between each option (3:73 to 4:10, etc).

Chevy stopped making the 6.0 v8 in 2020 when they replaced it with the 6.6. While it was an upgrade over the 6.0 it wasn’t a big one until Chevy added a 10 speed transmission in 2024. There’s a massive difference now. Going from an old 6.0 v8 to a new 6.6 v8 with the 10 speed is almost like going from a gas to a diesel.

Also if you want to stay in a used 6.0 you may have a hard time finding one with a 3:73 rear axle ratio. Most of them have 4:10.

This has been a circuitous pursuit but I’m now considering keeping my current 2008 2500 which happens to have 3.73 gears. DW specifically wanted Bluetooth, CarPlay back up cam etc. Just got back from an audio shop and all this can be installed around $700.

That’s a lot less than buying another truck!

Having had two Tundra's (V8's) with 4:30 gears and 5 speed trans versus the F150 now (V6 turbos) with 3:55 gears and 6 speed trans, there's almost no appreciable difference in our mileage, but the F150 pulls the trailer much better in my opinion. I'll add that we don't have the mountains and huge hills that some others have in their neighborhood, so it may be a moot point. Just us here in WNY.

Read a LOT of reviews before buying a radio. I bought an Alpine for my 2015 Ram, specifically for the Android Auto. It worked great, briefly. Now it will usually get to right before I need to make a turn and cut out. I complained to Alpine, they said to use the USB cord supplied by the manufacturer. That didn't help. My newest phone came with a USBC connection on both ends... my Android only has the old style USB. It is quite frustrating...

Moral of the story, it's GREAT when it works, but they aren't all great.

The Colorado has a maximum tongue weight of 1000lbs. When subtracted from maximum payload 650 is left for passengers and cargo. Fuel is calculated in the curb weight of the vehicle not as part of the payload. I don’t think there’s any fifth wheel that would work of course without the exact trailer tongue weight and exact vehicle payload it’s just guessing.
