Installing a 2nd A/C Unit With No Roof Vent

Hey all, we are looking to install a second air conditioner unit in our 2019 Jayco Eagle TT because the summer heat is becoming unbearable. We think (and have been told by Jayco) that the rig is pre-wired for a second unit. In the bedroom ceiling is a small outlet plate which is where we think it will need to go. Not sure yet if there are wires up there somewhere. What we don't have is a roof vent for an easier installation. We have been reading on several other pages that people have this vent which is where the unit goes. Has anyone else run into this issue? Does the "pre-wired" portion only mean they have the wires for it but no hole already cut out? Has anyone successfully installed a second unit with no previous vent already there in the roof? Any help would be great! Thank you all!

There was a post I think last spring were someone contacted, Jayco, got the roof schematic and wiring diagram. They then cut into the roof and installed it.

If you have a 30 amp service you are not pre-wired. But stranger thiings have happened. Remove the plate and see what is there. Remove the breaker panel cover and see if it is wired.

I’m installing also…

I have a 2017 Jayco Eagle 336FBOK and I am installing the 2nd AC in the MBDRM roof vent. It is my understanding that it is pre-wired and that somewhere in the wall housing the bedroom light switch, is the wiring for the 2nd thermostat.

I called Jayco customer relations and she said that as far as she knew a 2nd AC is a stand alone unit and there is no thermostat wiring.

My son installed one in his Jayco and there was wiring in the wall for a thermostat.

Can anyone help here?
