Issues with traveling on Spare Tire?

I had to change a tire today and mounted the spare. To my surprise the wheel is totally different. The "standard" wheel doesn't fit my spare tire rack, another surprise.

I put photos of the the two wheels below. Are there any issues of traveling a long distance with different wheels. Balance or maybe a different tire wear pattern.

I have new axles coming so I don't want to mount one of the new tires on the wheel until the new axle is installed.

If any of you have seen adaptors for spare tire holders please let me know or I will have to build one. Seems very strange that Jayco would make you carry a spare tire in the "coach" rather than being able to mount it on the tire rack.

The wheel typically doesn’t matter so much. The tire does. Typically, in automobiles, the spare isn’t for long term driving and use due to the bologna skin used as an excuse for a tire.

On my pop up, the spare tire was identical to the ones on the axle, though the wheel was ugly steel instead of aluminum. There was no reason whatsoever not to travel with that spare in use ... other than the risk of being stuck if you had another tire blow.

Your trailer may be similar. Check the tire itself. Check the weight rating and the air pressure. If it’s as good as the regular tire carry on ... again, your only risk is that you don’t have a spare tire to use in case of a blow out.

Thanks, then I am done except for designing an adaptor for the spare tire carrier. Since the wheels are different the existing carrier bolts are not long enough.

So since you bought your trailer the spare was covered and you never saw it?
I looked at mine 6 months after and found out it the tire was for a Baja model but the wheel was the same.

Should not be a problem using the spare as long as it is aired up and the lug nuts torqued to spec.

I've looked at it multiple times. I didn't pay attention to the wheel. have Now that have confirmed it is OK to drive with the spare for an extended period (since it is the same tire as the one on the TT's), the main problem is that the wheel from the TT will not fit on the spare tire. I do not want to have to carry it inside the trailer or the van. The original tire is worn from a bent axle, so it will still work as a spare till the new axles arrive and are installed.
