Hmmm. Gopower controller did not have a additional ground connection. Saw Victron had a provision for that but I did not supply one. Must I?

There have been a few reports of issues with the slide breaking down in one form or another (bottom breaking out, screws pulling out where floor meets outside wall, etc.). I can't imagine adding any weight there would be a good idea.

Personally I believe the factory did the "full minimum" on the install of their solar. According to the guys on the DIY Solar forum that ground is a must have on all of the equipment. I did it, but honestly I do not 100% know what impact not doing it might have etc..

As for what Don mentions, that is another reason why I didnt use that location. I would not install ANYTHING on the slide itself. But that floor area should be ok. We use that area for extra storage for soda/Costco protein drinks, vacuum, etc. The weight of the drinks is prob equal to those batteries.

Just make sure you can easily get to the slide motor and mechanism just in case you have to manually retract it. (I did that once, use a socket set to speed it up!)

My bad. Although I've been in there once, I forgot that the slide floor is significantly above the actual floor. I was thinking that floor slid out (had too many RVs where the slide floor was flush or slid along the actual floor). Having that pointed out, I don't see why it couldn't be used for batteries except for the issue of a wire run through the slide ends. I guess through the floor?

In my trailer the batteries were connected to the trailer via a 8AWG wire. Which isn’t too big. It’s a short run from under the couch so a 3/4” hole in the bottom of the bed base wall were the water heater is. Then run the wire under the front of the heater and up to the back side of the battery disconnect where then”OEM” buss bar is. Crimp and connect. Again need to figure out a good ground but I believe the frame is exposed under there a little and the wheel well is right there too.

The bathroom wall already has a good sized hole under there for the slide and light power. Basically no holes in the floor should be needed. (Depending on how the batteries are braced)
