Leak in Water Heater

So I have a leak in the water heater on my just purchased Used 2005 Jayco Jayfeather LGT.

I have a picture attached, the water is "pouring" out in between the seam of the Styrofoam, (Where I drew the blue circle) I am afraid this means that the whole water heater is bad.

I want to take the Styrofoam off so I can get a visual on the actual leak, but not sure how it is attached.

Anyone else have experience removing the Styrofoam from a mobile water heater. Are they glued in or what is the best method for removing them?

Sounds like a cracked tank that wasn't properly winterized.

I fully agree with Grumpy. To remove the Styrofoam just break it loose, use an utility knife. You can see where the seem is. You can buy a new tank or new 6 gallon Atwood WH. Another option is to have it welded. What model Jay Feather do you have?

It is Jayco Jayfeather LGT 2005. My uncle is good welder, how easy of a job is it , I guess I should take off the styrofoam and get a picture of the hole and then ask this quesiton.

A good welder can repair it is your choice which direction to take. Just check the cost of all 3 options.

If you weld it you might get an extra gallon out of it
