MicroAir EasyStart

We are looking for advice and/or experience installing the MicroAir EasyStart on our Jayco TT.

The AC unit is a rooftop 15,500 and while we mostly stay in RV parks, we'd also like to boondock and we are looking at generators.

The only other load besides the AC unit we anticipate is a small TV, CPAP and the RV fridge.

We're thinking of the Honda 2200i inverter generator, mostly for reliability and ease of service.

Anybody doing something similar? We’d like to avoid buying a pair of inverter/generators or a larger generator if possible.

I have the SoftStart RV which is basically the same as the Micro Air. You will be limited to what you can use at one time but but I run everything you mentioned and I have a Honda 2000i. I am very happy with this setup and I boondock most of the time.

I also installed the SoftStart version in my Coleman 15k AC about a month ago. Fairly easy installation using their instructions and YouTube videos. I use a HF Predator 3500 and I can barely notice when the AC turns on. I could run it with a 2200 generator just fine as well.

Which ever version you decide on I think the technology is worth the money.

I installed a Micro-Air and can run the 15KBTU air on my 2000 watt generator (Yamaha in my case).

I have the Micro-Air on our trailer and run it no problem with our Honda 2200. Another benefit is being able to run the AC off of a standard 120V outlet as well due to the degreased starting amps.

What run time do you get with the 2200? I have the older 2000 and get about 5 hours.

I installed the micro-air and run it with a Honda 2000. I did notice that the refrigerator on electric is almost too much for it. I manually switch to gas prior to starting the air. The television is no problem.
