Have anyone heard anything yet about this new gas fitting recall? According to the info Alan provides on his video it covers all 2022 Jaycos?

Here is the video -

I am more wondering which fittings are they talking about..?

There's a recall from Forest River on propane quick connects.

Exclamation 2021-2022 RV Recall

I just saw a video that Jayco model year 2021-2022 RV’s will be officially recalled in July for defective gas fittings along with multiple other brands including Thor. Supposedly the fittings brass was contaminated during process and will look fine. When tightened down they can crack. Possible fire hazard.
Over 22,200 units will be recalled.

Nothing about it on the NHTSA recall site yet. Not much to do until we know who/what is affected.

For Jayco products, it’s on the following….

Thanks. Am I correct that they are referring to the quick disconnect in some of our units where you plug in an external grill? According to the notice it says potentially 838 Northpoint/Pinnacle/Seismic units could be affected. Doesn't seem to be that many.

The recall you are talking about is not the same. As I said it will not be released until July. It affects several different manufacturers and models. A total of over 22,200 RV’s.
So, if you have a 21 or 22 Jayco, be very careful if you are doing any disconnect and reconnect of any gas fittings.

Reading the NTSB sites, yes it looks like it is on the Q/D fittings

The above PDF files indicate that they are NOT sending out something until the first of July, and also there are only 838 units effected, with a bad quick disconnect for the propane. I'm in agreement, 838 doesn't seem like too many. The 22,000 referenced from what the video says is for ALL manufacturers that used the same part.

According to the NHTSA bulletins above, it was Flex-Tech quick connects installed between July 1, 2021 and April 19, 2022, a 10 month time span...

This is all the same recall, just some of the manufacturers wont be notifying the consumers until July, which is ridiculous IMO.

Looks like the same one to me, and the July notification date is crazy.

Where I work, we have had to do CPSC notifications, and I don't think that we could get away with knowing on April 22nd, and notifying on July 2nd!!

So if you have the bad valve, get a new one now before the rush.

Is it for sure just the quick release valves, not the T or any other part of the line? If so those are cheap ($15) easily found and easily replaced. Forget going into the dealer for that hassle on a cheap part!

I have replaced them on friends rigs when they forgot to put the cover over it when not inuse. Prone to clog with dirt.

Get one now before the rush. any rv place or Amazon will stock them.

Recall will be lucky to ever get done

We have been waiting 3 years to get the regulator replaced on our Designer by Jayco. It has been verified ours is on the list but we are full time and never in the same place for 4 months or longer for them to ship a replacement. The recall has to be done by the reporting dealer and they will not ship it to another dealer in the area we are going to. What a joke they make it. Good luck.

Oh wow ….

Has anyone crawled under their RV to verify they have the Flex-Tech quick connect mentioned? Is it clear or marked so you can tell the manufacturer? My RV is under cover right now, but will pull it off soon. Also, I can’t imagine trying to get an appointment at a dealer during my lifetime the way things are going in the industry…

Still hoping someone confirms what part is actually under the recall. Is it the quick connect for the griddle?
