Hi all. And thanks in advance for your help! New to TT life and have two questions (well more than that but I'll just bother you all w/ two for now ):
1- Electric water heater. Manual says flip switch and it will light up and then w/in 15 seconds lite should go out otherwise turn it off and try again. Is that right - light on switch goes out when its kept in the on position and working right? Says can be damaged if I do this wrong. Seems odd, maybe I am reading it wrong?
2- My owners manual lists several slides. A couple it says to lubricate and 1 it says not to lubricate. I can't tell which one I have. Pix attached of underside. Should this be lubricated?

Welcome. The water tank light stays on when in use. Turn off when not in use. When plugged into shore power use the electric switch. When not plugged in use gas switch. Always make sure your HWT is full of water before turning either switch on. There is a slide lubricant spray available for RV's witch is normally a silicone solution as not to attract dirt for the slide you have. Also a lubricant available for the rubber seals surrounding the slide. Just follow directions on can. Hope that helps. Happy camping

When dry camping, technically you can use the water heater using the (12v) electric mode because it pulls power from the battery and does not require 120v. But it will be quite a power drain on the battery so the electric mode is not recommended. Use the propane mode instead.

However if you have a large enough inverter/generator with you, using the electric mode to heat water should be perfectly fine. We do this to conserve on propane when dry camping. When using electric and/or propane modes, the master panel switches will remain lit when heating water.

If you lubricate the slides only use a DRY PTFE (Teflon) lubricant.

I use both gas and electric when on shore power. When boondocking I just use gas.
