New London to Newport RI on 1A?

Anyone travel the route from New London CT area towards Mass using 1A through Newport RI? Towing a 28RLS with our F250 through there and wondering if that route is okay for us.

If it was me, I wouldn't do it as there are portions that are very tight. It's a much more scenic ride than 1, but IMHO not worth the risk.

Are you wanting to just cut through Newport for a shorter route? I personally would not go that way if I didn’t have too. There’s the toll on the Newport bridge and some very busy tight areas. Taking 95 to 195 is busy but it will be better.
