New tires needed

I have a 2010 Jay Flight G2 31rks TT and just had my first blow out yesterday on the way home from Pennsylvania. It did a little damage to the plastic fender but nothing that I can't fix. I want to replace at least two tires but probably will do all four next summer and want to know which tire is the BEST. My tire size is ST225/75R15 Should I stay away from those made in China? I read all kind s of stories about those but have never had any experience with them. I'd appreciate any suggestions.

What load range tire do you have now? My guess is it's a "C" rated tire. My suggestion is investigate your rims, if they are stamped for at least 65psi I would change to high pressure stems and then go with Maxis load range D tires.

I would go with eldermike's suggestion on the high pressure stems no matter what. We had a blowout last summer which my mechanic was pretty sure to a valve stem failure rather than a tire failure. Seemed like the previous owner failed to have new stems put on when they bought new tires and rot did them in.

Slow leak equals dropping your tire load capacity while you go down the road.

I have been told to stay away from tires that are made in China.....I don't know how many are not made in China anymore though

Most ST tires come from China. I do not know of a US made ST tire. However most tires going down the road are under inflated. You lose significant load carrying capacity with just 5 lbs under inflation. Consider that OEM tires were spec with the trailer at its max loaded weight and the tires at max inflation with very little room for error.

The slow leak will result in under-inflation. At highway speeds, an under-inflated tire will flex too much, over heat then blow out. Check your tire pressures regularly.
