Pass-through door lock latches sticking

Hey Guys,

I have a problem with two locks on my pass-through door - the latches are sticking. Is this something I could fix myself, or this is something that the dealer would need to take care of (trailer still under warranty). Generally, if it is easy fix, I would prefer to do this myself to avoid towing to the dealer. It applied grease, but this did not help.

thanks!

You should use a dry lubricant this way it does not attract dirt.

Rust?

Bono, I noticed you are located in "the bay area" . If you have salt air which you might if your close to the salt water, you have a high risk for rust and it looks to me like rusty water has been running out below the latch mechanism. Is there anyway you can seal the mechanism from moisture intrusion, possibly with silicone? I don't have the slam latches so I am not familiar with their construction. You might want to disassemble if possible and clean it.

Thanks Guys! I bought the dry lubricant and will apply this weekend and I am camping Fri-Sun. Will see whether it works.

Thanks again!

If the lube does not work check and see if the strike or lock are adjusted correctly. If the lock tab sticks out to far or the strike is mislocated it can cause sticking when opening or closing.

We have a 2016 Melbourne and love it. Unfortunately the large black plastic latch which secures the compartment which houses the fresh water connection/water filter and other plumbing is stuck and will not open. The key appears to turn normally as all the other latches do, but the "bolt" is not disengaging with the striker plate. Any suggestions?
