After reading these forums for a while, I was certain that the first camping trip in my X213 was going to reveal some issues. Perhaps a drain would become detached or a leak would spring up somewhere. Maybe the heater wouldn't light or paper might clog in the chute.

But as luck would have it, nothing happened. Everything worked. Nothing squeaked or moaned. Nothing cracked or peeled.

Not sure if what I experienced is the norm or not, but it was a great feeling not to have to report any problems!

Glad the first trip went well, and I think your experience is more the norm. Most folks will post about their issues, but few will post about things working as they should.

We've had two new Jayco's and our experience has been pretty much the same as yours. A good dealer, who takes the time to do a thorough inspection of the rig, and give you a comprehensive PDI, is also a key to a trouble free experience.

Forums are typically where owners of a specific product go when they have a problem. I belong to an F150 Forum and you would think that millions of them were dying on the side of the road.

I too had a flawless first experience with our new Jayco but it is a great feeling knowing that if and when something does go wrong, I have a world of great experience here for help and guidance.

I am a "Do it yourself" kind of guy, and whether it be a mod or a repair someone here has done it and posted about it or will answer a question quickly.

That's great to read a positive post! My first trip out was also flawless; no leaks, squeaks, pile-ups, water tank issues etc. Second year in is a different story but everything does work and it does what the SLX line is supposed to do. Can't wait to upgrade to a bigger TT that my DW's SUV can safely tow..

98% of people only post about problems.. very few ever post that they had no issues on the last trip so don't worry but if you do ever have a problem this group is a wonderful resource

I guess the forum is reflective of life in general.
Watch the TV and you think the world is falling apart tomorrow. (Not that serious things aren't going on in this country and around the world.) But each day, most of us get up, have our families to love, have a job to go to, enjoy recreational pursuits... and life is pretty darned good. Same with our RVs. I'd venture to say that most of us are very pleased with our unit. Sure things sometimes go wrong, but I just look at most of them as an opportunity to futz with my trailer and learn some new things about how the systems work (or should work!).
