propane hose

Has anyone put a longer hose on that awful propane connection on the front of their trailer so you can put a hard cover on the tank? We have a new 183RBW and would like to cover the tank but the very short hose from it to the trailer won't allow it. I took a quick look and don't see how I could disconnect that short hose and put a longer one on without possibly removing the entire regulator or whatever it is from the trailer wall itself.

Replacing propane hoses is easy, just depends on how far back you need to go to reroute them. Just replaced mine last fall due to squirrel damage. Had them made to length at a local hose shop.

I ordered longer hoses as I added a second tank. At the same time I purchased stainless steel covered hoses as they look better and are more resistant to damage. I got mine on Amazon after careful measurement. Use gas grade tape on the threads not the water grade tape to get a good seal. Usually a comes in a yellow plastic container vs white for water.

The M.B. Sturgis company has hoses in 12", 18", 24", 48" and 96" lengths. Some of the stainless steel over braid hoses are available in either only 48", or in addition a 60" length depending on which type of end you have at the regulator. 1/4" MPT or inverted flare.

I bought a 5 foot propane hose as an extension from Amazon to add to mine. It is longer than I needed so I coiled a loop under the propane tank holder with wire ties. It is a good thick tough hose and has the full 1/2" inside diameter like the existing hose, so it can move enough propane for a generator, or a tankless water heater, or whatever else you might have hooked up to it.

Check your connectors on your hose that you need to extend. You may need a male to male adapter to connect the two hoses together as well. Here are the links on Amazon to the ones I bought to extend mine.
