Propane Lines - Rubbing on Steel Frame
Just as a matter of personal preference, I am constantly inspecting my units for possible problems to find them before a problem arises. The other day I found our propane lines had been poorly installed where they pass by the spring mounts. Jayco basically used the fresh water tank drain line as a mechanism to hold the propane lines. This led to the propane lines rubbing against the steel frame. Over time, this would rub a hole in them obviously causing a gas leak. I bought a heavy duty piece of rubber hose, cut it in half length ways, slipped it over and lightly tightened with hose clamps (I'll include pics soon of my fix).
I emailed Jayco the picture of the problem. They just said my file was noted and didn't seem too worried. In my opinion, people need to know about this.
I also checked all my propane lines where they come up out of the floor. I credit Jayco with installing plastic collars to prevent the propane lines rubbing against the wood floor.
Hope this helps, and I would advise other to do a quick check. Fix is easy and cheap too.
