Recall

Has anyone received the recall notice for the 154BH? It involves the inversion of the cooktop flame while the furnace is running. Caution is advised to not use the cooktop burners and the furnace at the same time.

The recall doesn't effect my 2018 Jay Flight, but the NHTSA document stated that Jayco will be notifying 'dealers' and 'retail owners' November 21, 2022.

NHTSA link on the subject:

I think these are instructions on repairing the problem.

recall

Thanks a ton Bill for the information. That's just what I was looking for. I have zero confidence in my dealer to make this repair so I plan to do it myself. Thanks again. PS

So glad that I saw this. But that VIN range is a bit confusing. The recall notice says:

VIN Begin: 1UJBJ0AH0N77D0074
VIN END: 1UJBJ0BRXM1TD0175

My VIN starts with "1UJBJ0AG9L", so that does mean my 154BH is not subject to this recall, since the recall starts at "1UJBJ0AH"? And what's the "not sequential" supposed to be telling me?

adsfhjg: You should receive a letter informing you of the recall if necessary. Or, you can start your furnace and cooktop at the same time and check to see if the flame inverts. Mine sure did. Smoker Bill provided the step by step instructions for the repair. Quite easy to do. PS

I received the letter last weekend and I set up my dealer to do the repair. I have a copy of the letter which I will try to link to a Facebook post.

I got the recall letter yesterday for my 2022 183RB. My trailer is already at the dealership for a recall on the LED strip on the awning plus a bunch of other items that were there at delivery two months ago so we just added that recall in.

I'm interested to see how well they take care of the list of problems.

Don't count on a letter. It took Jayco over a year to send our propane regulator recall letter.

What are the liability and resale issues if we make a recall repair ourselves?
The fix is simple enough, but I can see it being used against us if a fire, vapor emissions, or other propane related incident subsequently occurred.

Yeah I'm not the original owner of the trailer so any letters wouldn't go to me I don't think. But I'm guessing I can just contact my local jayco dealer and they'll do the recall work regardless whether I'm the original owner or not.
