Decided to upgrade the Lei Low Lounge to make her look a bit more sophisticated and chic
We pulled out the sofa and dinette and all of the window valance boxes. HATED them (green, fugly dinette no one ever used, GREEN)! We were going to do a sofa with a small, regular dinette with normal table/chairs... but we wanted MORE sleeping arrangements... cuz the queen bedroom, back bunkhouse and sofa weren't enough
SO. We wound up purchasing 2 foam flip sofas. One is King and one is Queen. They come with each piece separate and you put it all together once it's all inside, so no problems fitting thru the little doorway. They fit PERFECTLY along the whole living room/dining room slide-out! I use a tray on the center arms as a little coffee table. They are a bit low to the ground when set up as a sofa, but we don't mind. The ottomans that came with make it pretty comfy and we use trays on them to eat, when we don't eat outside.
Next, the windows. We just put up thermal drapes I found at Lowes with small, straight rods to keep the drapes ON the wall for better heat blocking. They run from the very top of the wall (or cabinet) to the floor. Behind them, under the windows, I lined the walls with Reflectix and use that over the windows during summer (Havasu gets HOT!). I did that in the bedroom as well.
Next up...the backsplash and a few walls will get an application of a light plant based tile with a wave formation (pictured). And the storage closet that separates the kitchen from the bunk room will become a fireplace on the bottom and a display bar cabinet (for tiki mugs!) on top. Stay tuned!
