slide noise

We have a 2015 20' white hawk. Our slide has always made a very loud noise when going in or out. My daughters different brand camper slide makes very little noise. I saw on here that people used dry lube on the slide, so we tried it. It didn't work for us. Is it possible that it really is supposed to make that noise. Its a really awful noise. Thank you.

On our eagle the dinette slide would screech like crazy. I lubed it on the outside end of the tubes. Used most of a can of lube. Crawled under trailer and undid the corroplast hatch made at factory. Used most of a second can of lube. Kept running the slide in and out. Finally the grit in the tubes ran out. Now its pretty quiet. I still add lube once a year.

Think of fingernails on old chalk board screech
My thinking is it is sand in the tubes from off winter roads during delivery. Gets throw onto and in the tubes and washes into inside frame on the tube surfaces
