Speaker Help

New owner here, and this is my first post. I tried "upgrading" the cheapo stereo in our new 267BHSW with a Pioneer and it powered up, but the speakers wouldn't work.
I popped the old stereo back in and it too powers up, but no speaker noise.
Am I missing something? I can't imagine there's an amp in the walls somewhere is there?

Thanks for any help

Assuming that everything worked before the start of the upgrade, it sounds as if you may have the speakers wired improperly.

Another possibility is most 12v stereos will power up but have no sound if the speaker wires are shorted out or a speaker is bad.

Last thought, is there a separate A/B switch or headphone jack?

A little more info:
The factory radio was probably working before the upgrade, I just didn't try it.
I matched the speaker wires one at a time to connect to the new harness. I soldered the connections.
When I removed the new radio, I spliced the old one back in with butt splices.
So two radios and no speakers, leads me to believe its something in the speaker side of things as both radios have the issue

It you have an extra speaker around, try hooking it up directly to the radio (s). You can also remove a speaker from its current location and hook it directly to the radio.

Do you have a VOM?
