Stupid question # 437. Slide out

Ok, I have a used 2010 jayflight 24 FBS. This my first trailer. I’m living in it temporarily until my place is ready and it’s going to rain tomorrow. Here’s the question. Is it ok to have the slide out open when it is raining. I don’t know and I’d rather find out now rather than 1 a. m. tomorrow night.
You can stop laughing now.

Yes it is designed to be out in the rain.

Scotty, I would leave the slide out as long as you are level and it is a normal rain. The only time we pull our slides in would be in a very heavy blowing rain. As long as your gasket seals are good you should be fine. Enjoy, Jimmyd

Hope today's rain wasn't too wind blown.

If your rig is on a level spot, slides should extend with plenty of roof pitch built in to allow for most rain to simply flow away from the seal. Your annual maintenance should include treating those seals to preserve their usefulness.
