To WAX or not to wax?

I have a 2016 Jayco White Hawk 29REKS. As winter is very near now, I am wondering whether it really needs to be WAXED on the exterior, especially the roof.

Doesn’t modern paint have enough protective qualities? Or is waxing still the best idea?

Putting a coat of a good wax is always a good idea to keep oxidation to a minimum, making bug removal a bit easier, and helps to keep it looking like new. Our TT is aluminum and gets a coat of Meguiar's Flagship Premium Marine Wax, which is a polymer product. They are easier to apply, remove, and last us all year. Just what we do to ours for maintenance.

As mentioned a fall coat of wax on the outer walls is a good idea..., and I wash my roof with Dawn soap.

Spring/Fall I inspect all seams/joints (roof and sidewalls) for any compromised caulking (repair as needed). I will also apply Aerospace 303 UV protectant on all plastic surfaces (roof vent covers, skylights, frig vents, A/C cover, slide rubber seals etc..).

I hand wax my aluminum trailer once a season which for us is mid March through October. Additionally, I will wash it several times throughout that period with a Meguiars product that contains a wax.
