Todays additions...Propane tap-in with Genset conversion and TV mount!!!
Today was easy. Stuff came in for my Television backer.
The salesman told me that the entire area behind the Television was a sheet of plywood suitable for mounting an arm. Well, After a very thorough investigation with screws, a studfinder, and pushing I determined that there was 1 horizontal perlin and 1 vertical stud. On top of that I couldn't mount the base where it needed to go because when it folded up the Television wouldn't be centered enough to fit in the opening. So I wanted a finished look and decided on a 3/8" thick piece of HDPE. I figured it would look nice and be sound enough to handle the weight of the Television. I think I used 7 or 9 screws about 1 1/2 or 1 3/4 long which I countersunk in the sheet. I then mounted the base to that. Looks nice and is very sturdy. If it would start to vibrate loose I would drill through the wall and use nicely painted machine screw heads and washers but I think this will be fine.
