tow chains

ok just back up the new truck to the trailer. chains will not cross over to hook up. not long enough, yes need to change them. I take it they come in different lengths. need about extra 5 inches to cross them over
So I measure what I have and get the next length, the brake wire will be long enough because it was wrapped around the chain.

Not exactly sure what you are asking here. You can get a length of chain cut to whatever size you need / want. Most big box stores will sell chain this way just make sure you get a chain with enough capacity weight wise.

To extend the chains, consider buying heavy duty 'quick links'. I need 4 (2 on each side) to extend my safety chains because of my extended hitch shank.

Hope that helps...
