TV Mounting plate? Do I need extra plywood support?

I have a 2016 jay flight slx 264bh. In the entertainment center there’s a plate that says “mount tv here”

I can’t seem to find any information on whether there’s a metal plate in the wall or any other kind of structural integrity there so that I can mount a heavier (32”) tv there, on an arm, without it pulling the wall apart.

tl;dr; do i need to put in a piece of plywood between my mounting plate and the wall to reinforce this? It’s like the flimsiest wall separating the back of my entertainment center and the wall at the foot of the queen bed in the master.

There should be plywood behind the wall board in that location. Using a stud finder and running it up and down, you can usually find the edges of the backing.

You can get a drawing of that wall with dimensions from Jayco.
Either call customer service or email them with your model and serial number of the trailer and ask for the construction drawing of the wall for the TV mounting.

I use a digital stud finder for any mounting in our trailer. Best way to go

Sometimes... on the interior walls - they put a few strips of wood in the wall for items to screw into. On the exterior walls of our Seneca, they put 24ga sheet metal under the inner wall surface for sheet metal screws to grab. Get the Blueprint from Jayco, they sent us ours in one day via Email.

I've attached three mounting plates in the spots dedicated for them with no extra plywood added on my end. I've never had any issues with a television mount breaking off during the normal rocking motion that occurs with people walking in the trailers or movement caused by the window, even with the extended arm. That said I always dismount the television for traveling.

Same here. Used the marked spot and remove for travel.

Why remove the tv? It's not going to fall off the wall if you secured it properly. Simply put a piece of pipe insulation or a rolled up towel behind it at the top to minimize any vibration or wiggles.

For me the 19" flat screen easily slides out of the bracket for storage. My confidence that the structure of the wall, even with extra plywood backing, could handle the G forces it would be subjected to on the roads in NY and surrounding states is not very high. I'm reluctant to test the definition of "secure it properly" when I can very easily avoid the possibility of a catastrophic failure during testing by removing it.
