The wall studs are 1x1 so I used 3/4” lag bolts in my mount.

This is my tv mounted... we use it all the time!

Alternate 174BH TV mount location

I installed a TV in my 174BH, but mounted it in an alternate spot at the foot of the bed. It works really great because I can use the TV while lying in bed at night. I also like that it isn't taking up space in the kitchen. I mounted it to the beam next to the door (runs floor to ceiling, it's where the awning is mounted). I ran the coax cable from the kitchen outlet to the TV (stapled into the wall), and ran an electrical extension cord up from the outlet next to the door.

To answer your question: the screws that came with the mount were 1" (or maybe 1 1/4"). The beam its in is 2" thick.

Since the walls are so thin I have seen some folks just put a 1x6 across the wall and screw it in place on the corners. Then they can mount the TV wall mounts to the 1x6 board. It can be painted to match up to your wall décor...
