Many times RV oulets are designed to be installed without a "box" like they would be in a fixed structure. These RV receptacles have special backs that close to cover the connections after they have been wired. Most residential outlets have exposed connection screws requiring them to be installed in an approved junction box to prevent shorting concerns.

I replaced several of my outlets with residential-style ones with USB capabilities, but I installed them in "old work" boxes so that no connections are exposed.

I have a 12 volt voltage/amperage plugin that also has 2 USB outlets that I got for under $10.

USB 4 in 1 Dual USB Car Charger Adapter Voltage DC 5V 3.1A Tester on Amazon is similar to mine, lots of other use them to monitor the battery voltage.
