Water Line Issue

My water line from my pump to the rest of the trailer has started to leak. Most of the water lines are pex which makes the oetiker clamp work great. This line is a vinyl water line though. Some how at the manufacturer they got the clamp to work on this. I am not having so much luck though. The water line is 1/2" ID but so is the clamp. Has anyone ran into this issue? Would a hose clamp work on this line? I was able to finally get the clamp on the hose just a little bit by trimming it down with a box knife. But I still can't get the new fitting to slide in the hose.

I use automotive type clamps on vinyl hose myself. I have run into tight fits and you can try two ways. A drop of kitchen soap might help. If that fails you can warm the vinyl up with a hair dryer (matches, lighters and propane torches just melt it, I know). Last resort, buy an end to end fitting and some different hose plus new clamps and size it up a bit or replace the whole vinyl with a piece.
Note, vinyl has a short life at full pliability then gets harder, replacement may be a good idea anyway.

Yeah tried the soap trick, but it didn't work. I may have to try the hair dryer trick. The frustrating part is even if I do get the clamp on it seems like I cant then get the new fitting in the hose.
