Water Pump - Two?

Hi all,

Weird question...

As I was camping this weekend, it dawned on me how un-fun it would be if my water pump did not work (we were semi-rustic, no running water), and I thought, "maybe I should bring a spare with me?".

Thoughts? Kind of extreme? Thanks!

A spare pump hasn't been on the top of my list of things to buy right at the moment but it will be soon. Better safe than sorry.

I probably carry more spare parts in my "Keep the trailer going" bins but I do not carry a spare pump. I've thought about it and maybe if we boondocked more often I might though...

I carry a spare. We frequent parks where there are no hookups. A dead water pump would ruin the week.

For what it's worth. You don't see many posts about pumps going bad usually it's about the check valve sticking and filling the water tank when on city water. I had a spare, but I used it to pump water from a bladder into the tank when boondocking. I had it powered off the 7 pin.

I had a pump go out in my first trailer. I rebuilt it and kept it since it was replaced under warranty. In the following 20 years I kept it as a fill pump from a tote when hunting and camping. I still have not had to use it as a replacement.
