We have a 2017 23MRB. I haven't replaced the fan yet but I am considering the Vortex 2 replacement unit. Some go with the fan-tastic fan replacement but that requires complete removal of the old unit. The vortex will install in place of the other fan.

So the real question, are we talking bathroom exhaust or stove exhaust?

I have a 23RB, I installed a Fantastic Fan vent. It pulls a crazy amount of air through the trailer. I bought the one with a thermostat so it kicks on when it reaches a certain temp. It was worth the labor to put it in no doubt.

It's a direct fit. Carefully peel away old dicor sealant covering screws on roof flange. Remove screws and gently peel old fan housing up and out. Lay down included gasket, set new housing back in hole, screw new housing to roof, and reseal with dicor sealant and or Eternabond tape. Super easy, just take your time and do it right. I bought the vent cover to go with it so I could leave vent open even in the rain or driving.

I did this mod on my last unit in the BH and it was an easy swap out from the inside. Moves a lot of air and has multiple speeds.

Mikedebb,
I just recently installed the vortex 2 fan which I purchased on amazon. It does move a serious amount of air and was a super easy install(about 30 min start to finish) The fantastic fan may be a little more effort to install, but based on reviews I think it makes less noise than the vortex. My vortex is loud enough to be heard from across the trailer but not so loud that it is a nuisance.

In case no one else mentions it.....

DO NOT have the powerful exhaust fan running during a flush.

It can pull odors from the black tank into the bathroom.

+1 on the above!

I have installed a Fantastic Fan and a Maxxair in our trailer and I much prefer the Maxxair so have a look at those models as well.

They are very easy to install but it can be a bit messy. They are also typically designed to fit the standard 14"x14" hole in your roof.

Scrape away existing sealant from around the lip of the fan on the roof.
Unscrew all the screws.
Push/pull the fan out of the opening.
Disconnect power wires.
Throw it in the garbage.
You may or may not need new butyl tape gasket/seal material at this point. I reused ours when I did it but it was a new trailer.
Connect power to new fan and insert into the opening making sure the orientation is correct.
Test the fan operation.
Install all the screws.
Test the fan again!
Apply Dicor sealant over all the screw heads and all around the lip of the new fan.

I just finished installing a MaxxAir. Took about 1.5 hours total time. Easiest mod so far.

I picked up a Jayco 186 a couple of
weeks ago but am surprised to see the bath fan is not an exhaust fan but draws air in instead. Close inspection shows that it isn't a case of wrong polarity as even the blades are shaped to push air down into the tt. I plan to correct this with a better fan but has anyone else run into this? Am I wrong to think that it should be exhausting?
