White Hawk 28DSBH top bunk??????

For those of you that have this model or ones that don't have a ladder for the top bunk. What is your solution for access to the top bunk for the kidos?? Thanks.

I have the same trailer and have been trying to come up with ideas. For now the kids just step on the head of who ever is on the bottom bunk

I haven't seen, heard or come up with a good solution yet. I did build a prototype out of some 2x4's that I wasn't thrilled with.

We looked at a 28DSBH, and a very similar Eagle with the same floorplan. The Eagle had an industrial-looking steel ladder that came with it, pretty unattractive looking. There are bunk ladders available on the RV parts websites, the aluminum ones look a little nicer than the steel.

We ended up buying a Jay Flight 28BHBE, similar floorplan. It has a nice cabinet at the foot of the bunks with a built-in matching wood ladder that pivots inward for storage and travel, and back out for the kids to use when camping.

The salesman told me that starting soon, bunk ladders will no longer be included due to the liability. You'll have to buy it yourself, then the liability is on the user, not Jayco. Not sure how true this is.....

Here is what we did on our Whitehawk 28DSBH.
Ladder was 60" Chrome Bunk Ladder purchased through Camping World/
Ladder was cut down so slide could operate without having to remove ladder.

How did you mount the top of the ladder. Looms removable?

The mounting hardware was included with the ladder. The ladder lifts off and is easily removable.
I used a hacksaw to shorten the ladder sufficiently, so that it could be left in place while the slide goes in or out.

Is this the ladder you used? It looks like it has different mounting hardware on top.
