Zinus or Lucid 10" memory foam. Yes more mattress chatter

Even with the 4" memory foam topper placed on top of the cheaper than dirt OEM Jayco, or whoever's pile of junk........the canyon in the middle of the mattress keeps rolling me downhill into it.
I have to grab the clothes closet to work my way up and out.

Zinus and Lucid ("10") are both within my price range $229 and $239 on Amazon.

The reviews for both are all over the map......one says too firm and the other says too soft.....one even ragged on fiberglass strands coming from the cover.......something about used for fire retardancy.

Not interested in a sprung mattress.

I am 6' and a husky 220#......just me....no dogs/no cats/no critters of any kind.
Prefer a "medium" comfort rating

Owners of those brands please comment.......firm or inbetween soft?

Thank you......

Can you comment on the "feel"?......firm, hard, squishy, soft.
Does your 200# body leave a depression on the surface that does not expand back after a night sleeping?

Using what thickness?.....

Thanks again

The good thing about buying from Amazon is free returns if you don't like it, just make sure its sold by Amazon and not a third party seller.

I agree with this......

Too bad I don't have a vacuum packer on hand that would suck up a foam mattress, (60"x74") wrap it in plastic and seal it up..... and get it back in the box.

I am not sure how they do it but people have returned them, maybe they pick it up and package, yes most don't have a vacuum packer at home.

Foam Mattress

We have a Artic Dreams 12" from Amazon for $309.99. Couldn't be happier. There is a little sink into it (not stiff as a board) but very comfortable for us. I'm 200 lbs and I am smart enough not to mention my wife's weight. Check out the reviews on Amazon.

Arctic Dreams Foam Mattress

Hey, redsnapper (that sounds pretty fishy) anyway, I just replied to your post.
Would like to add that Arctic Dreams is made in the USA. With your weight, I recommend the extra 2"s. More foam will hold more weight. We don't roll into each other and it doesn't have impressions in it when we get up. I bought mine Jul 2017 (we have slept happily ever since) from Amazon and the price has gone up to $339.00. The 12" height fits just fine in my 32BHDS. The extra few bucks will be worth it in the long run. Good luck with your choice.

We replace ours with Zinus 8" short queen. Very comfortable, not too firm, I'll say 8 on a scale of 10 (soft-firm). Does not leave a depression and we both don't end up in the middle every morning. We liked it so much, bought a 12" Zinus for our bedroom.

Hope I am not hijacking this thread, but we have a 17' 23BMB, (Murphy Bed), and want to replace the haystack that came with our trailer. Can anyone here tell me if a 10" matterss is too thick to fold the bed into the wall? Thanks in advance. I have read and used these forums and must thank you all for your information.

I got a Zinus 12" king size mattress for the bed in the house two years ago and am pleased, especially since it was so cheap! I would call it "medium" as softness/hardness goes. However, it does have an indented area where I sleep but surprisingly doesn't make any difference in the sleep comfort. I would purchase again.

We have the Lucid 10 inch short queen in out Whitehawk 23MRB. Huge improvement over the stock mattress. It’s not exactly what I would call soft but it has some give and is comfortable. It folds up into the stored position with no problems.

We have a zinus 8*inch mattress and we are pretty happy. The memory layer is soft enough that it supports decently and the dense layer is dense enough that I don’t feel like I’m sleeping on plywood like I did with jayco’s sorry excuse for a mattress.

I sleep on my side and my wife on her back and we both agree it’s pretty comfortable. And I’m taller and weigh more than you.

One end didn’t really inflate back after being unpacked for three days so it’s the end I cut to make it into a short queen.

Hey Troutslayer.....

Does that indented area come back up after a bit?

This is my primary concern........a canyon that keeps growing deeper and deeper and does not raise back up.

No. The indentation does not come out and I was pretty disappointed however, for some reason it doesn't make any difference. It's still comfortable, for some reason.

We got the Zinus for our TT and completely love it, I won't mention weights but the wife and I are of the "fluffy" persuasion, it is comparatively comfortable to our $3k memory foam mattress at home.

We bought the 10” Zinus and it’s great. Our motorhome has closets at the footend of the bed so when we slide in the bedroom, the 10” mattress is too high and makes opening the closet difficult - I wish we had bought the 8” one for that reason alone. A smart person would have measured before they bought, but I didn’t. Also I think the smaller the thickness of the mattress, the firmer the mattress.
