2012 Jay Series 1007 - what did you do for mounting battery?
New owner of a Jay Series 1007. Getting it ready ... (I'll start a new thread about the rear tow hitch I added on for my bike rack) That is done!
Now, picked up my marine battery last night and need to mount it. What has others done to mount the battery on the 1007? Is there a SPECIAL mount that I need or should use?
I was originally thinking of mounting the battery next to the single propane tank as I do not and won't have the dual tanks at anytime. There are mounting holes already pre-drilled there for the tank that I can use to mount battery....but maybe the spacing of the tray seems a bit wide for the battery.
So, if I mount where the battery is supposed to go, that is fine, BUT there are NOT any holes drilled here at all??? Do I drill my own holes? Is there something I'm missing like a fancy mounting bracket?
I had planned to mount the battery inside a carry box with a standard battery tie-down plate and long bolts that hook through the frame, but thought I'd check here before drilling.
