Little Oops... broken plastic

Hello,

New pop up camper owner and I ended up backing into a shelf in my garage breaking a plastic decorative piece on the left rear of my 2010 Jayco 1207 camper. I ended up taking the piece off and sending it to a family friend to repair.

I have a couple of questions:
1. I am going to need to reseal the plastic piece and I have read post recommending OSI Quad sealant. Which quad sealant should I use? There seems to be different types of OSI Quad sealant including Max and All Season.

2. To remove the plastic piece, I had to cut through some puddy like material (photo). What is this material? Is it the butyl tape just mashed together?

Thank you for any advice. I attached a picture of the plastic piece I removed as well. There was a some sort of foam spacers near the handlebar with some puddy like stuff sticking the plastic to the camper wall as well. If you happen to know what that stuff was, that would be appreciated.

If the putty was still sticky and soft feeling then my vote is it was butyl tape. I’d use OSI Quad or Proflex and you should be good to go. I’ve use both

Thank you for the reply. The puddy wasn’t sticky and it wasn’t rock hard. It was almost like silly puddy.
