New Jayco 1206 pop up trailer

We just purchased a 2011 Jayco 1206 pop up trailer. AS we went threw the
prep setup/teardown. I think I missed info on the 3 way refrig. I have not found the instructions. SO, how does it work? I see there is a door to open and four settings. A. C./ D.C / Gas and off. How do I start the gas operation?
Does the refrig go from A C to D C with the turn of the knob? Any help would be great

Hi Rudyone.... I don't have a pop-up so can't help ya, but would like to welcome you to the Jayco Owners Forum. (With ours if it is on "auto" then fridge moves from gas to electric when we plug into shore power, but ours is a tt).

I used to have a Viking trailer with a 3 way fridge. My fridge had a separate temperature control for the gas. I first would put the gas knob to high then push and hold the knob down and press the igniter until the fridge lit. There was a small access cover I could lift to see the pilot light. I always found if I light the stove first it would help run the gas through the system so it would light.

Same as Bender...had a pop-up with a 3-way long ago - we really enjoyed it and I think the kids have some great memories in it.

AC is shore-power (plugged in)
DC is battery-power (limited use only)
Gas is.....well, it's gas...

Flip the switch to "gas". You may have an electric 'spark' igniter of some kind. If not, use a gas bbq lighter. You should be able to see a "pipe" within a "pipe"...that's where your flame will be. You'll need to use the primer button when lighting to get things going, but once the flame is lit and warmed up, all will be good. Some do, but I wouldn't drive with it running off gas. I prefer to travel with the propane tanks shut off for safety. Everything in the fridge will stay cool for a long time while your on the road.

If in doubt - contact your dealer or e-mail the maker of your fridge. They'll give you a hand!

Just purchased the same trailer and have not used the gas portion of the fridge yet. We have tried the a/c and d/c settings. Run through upon pick up was a lot of info to digest in the 2 hour time frame.

We are going on our maiden voyage this week-end so we will most likely have some questions upon our return.

Our 2011 model 1007 has a 3 way fridge, on which we just used gas for the first time. First open the tank valve (slowly), then swing open the little cover plate over the pilot. Switch power selector to gas, and press the selector knob to ignite (or use a match). When you observe the pilot burning well, swing the cover plate closed. Cooling temp is adjustable when using gas (but apparently not when using elec).

I know this is an old question so I hope you have your answer by now...

We have a new 2011 1206 also, and have had major problems with the fridge. We have not yet been able to use the fridge on gas because it kept throwing off propane balls of fire when we tried to light it. The dealer took a look at it and said the fridge was defective from the manufacturer of the fridge (not Jayco's fault). They are ordering a new fridge.

I'm petrified of actually lighting it when we get the new one! Nothing worse than boondocking and lighting your fridge and finding huge balls of fire....

When you're ready to light the new one, have a hotdog on a stick in hand...that way, if you do get another ball-of-fire, you'll at least have a hot meal...and possibly no eyebrows.:hihi:

Since it is a new fridge it should auto start on gas.. Only use the D/C setting when driving down the highway.. it will kill the battery real fast if used when not moving..
