When winterizing the water system, I drain the hot water tank by opening the PT valve, and then opening the high-pressure drain on the cold side. No tools required to remove the tank drain plug, anode rod, hot rod, etc. When it's empty, I flip the bypass valves and run red-pop through the rest of the system. I've been doing this for the last 5 years and it has worked perfectly.

Do any of you drain your hot water tank this way?

I just took it to the dealer for the first winterize because it's still under warranty, once that's up, they will never see it again.

One quick question for the cold climate owners, do you guys take your flat screen television out for the winter and bring it in the house?

We took a secret poll and the results are in and unanimous. ALL MODERATORS DESERVE TO HAVE THEIR PAY DOUBLED!!! And have it doubled on the first of every month. ... UNLESS they are caught transporting earwigs.
