Honestly...WAY too much trailer for a Liberty...They only have a 5,000 tow limit and that is pushing it. I know...we have a 2008 Nitro and the vehicle is way too small for that size camper, re-geared or not.

That said, you really need to look at a ProPride 3P hitch. You will eliminate the sway from the wind you are getting. If you have the power and braking set up, the ProPride will take care of the "tail wagging the dog". The best money you can possibly spend other than getting a truck.

Thanks for your input. I will look into it this evening.

If the information I have at hand is correct, the Jeep Liberty's towing capacity is 5000 pounds, at the most; and yours may be lower. The GVWR of the Flight 26BH is 7000 pounds. You will be 40% over the towing capacity, and an unknown amount over your total maximum GCWR (the maximum for your year is 10,175 pounds). So, if the base weight of your Jeep is (4269#) + 15 gallons of fuel (90#) + two adults (300#) + other items in the Jeep (200#) + a full trailer (7000#) = 11,859#. You would be 1684# overweight.
I understand you upgraded the brakes and rear end. However, the rear end helps the engine and transmission to get you going; although there is far more to the powertrain than a rear end. You can upgrade your calipers and brake pads, but much like the powertrain, there is more to a braking system. Then there is the frame, tires, wheels, and so many other components that need to be considered.
In conclusion, I'm sorry to say, but your Jeep is overmatched with this size trailer. You need to find a vehicle that can handle this mass, as it's not just you and yours who are at risk, but everyone on the road.
Sorry buddy.

This is why we had to buy a new truck when we got our Jay Feather X213 6 weeks ago. I convinced her that the Honda Ridgeline (about the same specs as your Liberty) was just about at a comfortable towing capacity with our popup, and was even a bit bouncy with it. The dry weight of the new TT just about hit the top limit for the Honda, and there was no way it was going to like trying to pull a full load.

Bottom line - I got a new 2016 Ford F-150 3.5 Ecoboost 4x4 XLT. It pulls the new TT like a dream, even with no WDH.

Just a question out of curiosity - when you bought that trailer did a salesman at a dealership tell you that your Liberty would pull it fine?

A lot of you have some very nice tow vehicles. Mine was bought a bit over 6 years ago while my wife was pregnant with our oldest daughter. At the time we had a Nissan Pickup and a Sonata, now we have the 350 and a minivan. I knew I wanted a Super Duty with crew cab for kids, a camper shell (reduces registration in CA and more secure), 4x4, long bed, and a V10. After searching for weeks for a V10 in a 2005 or later within 250 miles my wife called me telling me she found my truck right here in town. It was older than a wanted, a '99, but it had EVERYTHING on my list and only had 70,000 miles. Of course the best feature of all is that it is has no payments!

I'll admit the newer Super Duties look very appealing and I haven't ruled out getting one eventually. But when I remember mine is only costing me gas and insurance and minimal maintenance thanks to the V10, I feel I can wait.

That's a nice looking rig you've got there, and this is coming from a lifelong Ford guy.
You're certainly not marginal on the capability of the truck. Nice.

Just before we left for the 1300 mile round trip to Washington DC from Cincinnati the week of Thanksgiving. We were back home to have Tday dinner with family. No issues at all.
