I got the DeeZee aux tank bolted into the truck bed today. I’m waiting on the solenoid to be delivered so I can wire to one of my upfitter switches. When it comes in I’ll tie it into the tank. It looks good under the tonneau cover!

Got the plumbing & electronic solenoid plumbed & wired this afternoon. I put 8 gallons of diesel in the aux tank, checked for leaks & opened the valve...no leaks Hit my upfitter switch to turn on the solenoid and again...no leaks

Drove the 10 miles home and the mileage til empty kept increasing. Got home and again checked for leaks

I'm ready for our next trip to Disney in March!

It’s really bright. Allegedly it is 3456W and puts out 535,680 Lumens. Don’t know if it’s anywhere close to that or not but it really is bright.

It also has amber lights that I can use during foggy conditions. Got it off eBay for $65 so if it dies, I’m not out much

I installed my DeeZee Tailgate Assist. Super easy install, and works beautifully. No more hand slipping off the tailgate and letting it crash down!!

Next will be my Bak Flip tonneau cover!

Much better view

I upgraded my reverse lights last year with the LED's from Diode Dynamics and was really happy with how they were plug & play. The halogen headlights on the Ram (IMO) are not the best! So I ordered the SL1 low beam LED headlights that are plug & play replacements and installed tonight. I'm quite happy with the results. The pic below shows the new LED in the passenger side and the old halogen on the driver's side. I didn't see the need to do the high beams, but I may do the fog lights too at some point. I have no affiliation with Diode Dynamics...other than they have some of my money!

Well, since I've only put a little over 100 miles on the new F250 so far I haven't done much. I added a "Retired Navy Chief" plate to the front and a "Retired Navy Chief" license plate frame to the back. (I've always wanted those but just never got them until now).

I just received a new B&W adjustable hitch to tow everything else but the TT and I added Weathertech mud flaps.

I'll eventually get around to adding something for the upfitter switches to operate.

I just installed the Roadmaster Active Suspension (RAS) on my F250. I had them on my F150 and loved them.

Adding front tow hooks to my '16 F-150 Lariat RWD tomorrow. Recently added Bilstein shocks all the way around. Stiffened up ride and much smoother and better towing.

Just a little getting to know your truck maintenance today. May not have all been needed, but wanted to get familiar with it.

Fuel filter, spin on trans filter, chasis lube and checked but saving air filter for when it really needs it. Then made an appt for a couple warranty items.

Narrowly avoided disaster after clean up. I had opened and closed my pax side door apparently getting the rope for the garage door emergency release trapped in the closed door. Started to back out, which pulled the cable and door started on its way down with me. Thankfully I heard and saw what was going on before it got ugly.

Finally got it back from the body shop/Ford dealership. Accident happened on 11/29/2017. Due to backlog in body shops because of deer related accidents at the time didn't get into shop till 12/09/2017. Body shop finished their work by 12/22/2017 and sent it to the Ford dealership on 12/26/2017. The Ford dealership had to do 4 things; replace a rear shock, rear differential cover, 4 wheel alignment and diagnose a faulty fuel gauge. 30 days for this seems a little extreme but it seems all fixed and I'm happy now.

Got a new truck.

The 2009 Dodge started showing more problems (at 130,000 miles). This one had the turbo system upgraded last year and was running strong. But, we started having minor electrical issues. Then it started having leaks. One was the front pinion and the other was at the back of the engine. The brakes started 'pulsing' but the dealer could not find anything wrong with them.

So, traded it in on a new Ford. Base model F250 diesel. I like it. Not an apples to apples comparison to a new Dodge. Compared to the old one it is MUCH quieter, better suspension, 600lb more capacity, more rear passenger foot room and smoother on the road. I also like that the bed is 6" longer (both trucks are reg beds). Most is this improvement is probably just changes in trucks over the last 10 years.

I decided to not get a tonneau cover for this one. Instead I got a tool box for it. Works very nice and makes shopping/traveling much more convenient. Probably the only mod I will make to it.

I liked not having to add overload springs to it. Just hooked up the trailer and drove. Much better ride with the trailer than the older Dodge (it had Timbrens on it).

Before any bashing starts....I did not drive a new Dodge so have no idea if a new one would have been just as good as the Ford.

It's interesting that you mentioned electrical issues on your 3rd gen Dodge. My 2007 currently doesn't have high beam headlights. Keeps frying the new bulbs that I put in. Last year this time, I didn't have interior lights or dash lights. It was the TIPM last year that was the problem and I'm assuming that it is probably the same problem this time. I called yesterday to order another replacement TIPM. The earliest that one will be in stock is Feb. 16 and more likely the beginning of March. Frustrating to say the least.

Mine was reverse lights at first. Then had a drain somewhere that would take the batteries flat in 4 days of sitting. Then the block heater did not work (that might have been from a dealer service when water pump was changed, they left the oil drain plug loose too). On top of the oil leaks it was just time for it to go.

I am crossing my fingers that Ford dealers are better at service, but, that's probably a pipe dream
