Steering adjustments on '16 Greyhawk MV

Having purchased the '16 Greyhawk 29 MV last Feb '16. we rolled some 6000 miles from June to August of 2016 though out the west. At that time it was so obvious that steering was lacking.

The alignment had been done in March '16 and it worked some, but not nearly enough to make the coach behave properly.

Steering was a constant adjustment while travelling down the road, and even more so as wind and large trucks would push our coach all over the lane.

SO, Safe-T-Plus and Hellwig front sway bar was installed two weeks ago by Lafayette Spring (Lafayette, LA). We rolled 485 miles this weekend, and we found those two installed items to a be a "total success".

We had a serious head-wind on Friday as we headed north for 244 miles. The coach behaved "so much better" than it did previously. Steering adjustment was not an overwhelming constant issue like before. When winds would hit the coach, I found that the coach was stabile and steering was precise. Even as large trucks flew by, the coach was stabile. What a blessing that was.

I plan on having the rear Hellwig sway bar installed one day real soon.

Your coach should already have a rear Hellwig on it.

The coach came with Hellwig Helper Springs, but the sway bars are Ford E450 factory Sway bars that are way too small to be used on a motorhome.

I chose to go with a front Hellwig sway bar and Safe-T-plus to see if I was on the right track before spending money on the rear sway bar. Total success. Rear sway bars are next.

I'm still considering a rear trac bar, but I have to find something that does not effect the muffler system over the rear axle.

Mine has a heavier bar on the back than stock. I know this because the Winnebago I had prior had a MUCH skinnier bar then my Jayco has.

OK ..... "YOU ARE CORRECT"....... I crawled under the rear of the coach and "low and behold", a Hellwig sway bar is on the rear.

I assumed that because of the small front sway bar, that I would find a standard sway bar on the rear as well. Thank you for being so persistent.

I would probably have had the shop order the part then they would discover that Hellwig is already on the rear. Some way that would have cost me some money.

Now all I need is a rear trac bar.

Thank you, thank you, thank you.....
