Boom outside outlet bad connection. I tore into it and was sticking my meter probes in the outlet and tripped the gfci. I kept messing with it and had power to all 3 outlets. So clearly I wasnt satisfied with the squeeze outlet and took it out.
Will a residential outlet work with the weather cover in tact? I may pigtail a couple of the wires together as not to crowd the outlet. Will also run a new wire to the front outlet since it's really tight no slack.
Wit the new outlet I will need to put in a new outlet box a shallow one with the ears on it to fasten it. Will need to shave some additional fiberglass off to fit the new box.
How's my plan sound?

The power feed goes to the outside outlet fromalls the gfci where the outside outlet acts as a junction for the outside, front and bathroom outlet.

I don't like the looks of that setup at all .... an electrical inspector once told me tie lines together with a section added for plug ... that way if a plug goes bad it doesn't kill everything downline from it ... can you get behind it from inside to mount a junction box and tie into the romex for that plug?

Best bet is to find an electric store in your area, not the big box store, but one which specializes in electrical and see if they can match the outlet with one which has screw connectors. Glad you found it, bet you are too!

Paintin I tore all that out and I am planning pigtailing a couple wires together and into the new outlet. That picture was existing out of the factory.

Bam! You're an electrician! I have replaced many of those push on connector type outlets. Make all the connections tight and protected. It is tight in some of those shallow boxes.

This is a schematic of a RV30A (M) to RV50A (F) ADAPTER. Note that the 50A TWO HOT WIRES are tied together to allow the SINGLE 30A HOT WIRE to feed both 50A ZONEs in the RV WIRING SETUP,
DRAWING FROM DMBRUSS
Both 120AC 50ANP ZONES will be fed a 30A ource to be hared with all 120VAC items. You will have to watch what is turned on at the same time otherwise you will be tripping the 30A SOURCE Circuit Breaker.

Wasn't there a snap cover over the back of the outlet? If the cover is missing that was the problem since the cover holds the wire in place to prevent such failures.

I know a family that lost a child in a house fire due to a faulty outlet outside her bedroom. I wired my house with all spec grade outlets with the breaker style screw/clamp style connections and pigtailed all the connections so downstream current does not flow through upstream outlets. That picture of that outlet has me seriously considering changing out all the outlets in my rig and properly wiring them. Using push style connections is not good practice but is code MINIMUM but I don't trust something that is the absolute minimum acceptable wiring in a trailer that bounces down the road.
I found some Romex in my trailer wedged between a shelf and the wall of the trailer under the kitchen sink. Over time this could wear through and cause a short or worse. I just pulled it out but makes me wonder what else might be pinched elsewhere. Good thread to learn a lot about trailer wiring.

While I was installing the satellite feed in my 5th, I also added an electrical outlet to better support electronic gizmo's. I tied into an existing receptacle and discovered the push type connection. I replaced that outlet when I added the new one. I don't see the need to replace all of them, just upgrade them while you go along.
