I had to look to find our GFCI in the bathroom. It is underneath the medicine cabinet. And, I was installing another GFCI the other week, and coudn't get anything to work. finally went back and had to push in really far to get it to reset. I've installed hundreds of them and this is the first one I have seen that requires that much push to reset.

We have one in the bathroom and by the kitchen counter . If it has a plug close to the sink it should be on a GFIC circuit

Did you take the outlet off and check the wires and the outlet itself?
