So next step seems to be picking the actual parks we want to visit.

Our 11 year old daughter is not a huge fan of extreme rides and has outgrown the thrill of meeting characters already. We're thinking of doing 2 days max of parks. Maybe just Animal Kingdom and Epcot. She absolutely loved Harry Potter world last year at Universal, for what it's worth.

Can we book restaurants and fast passes before we've booked the parks?

Once we book the parks, they send us the bands?

Since we're already booked at the Fort, I guess we can go ahead and book Hoop De Doo.

Anything I'm missing?

Are you buying your tickets when you book your campsite? You can book fast passes 60 days out.

Reservations are made and tickets are included for arrival on 5-25-19 departing on 6-5-19. This will be our 5th trip to the Fort and we will be joining our daughter and her family. Going to be a great time as in the past. Our daughter has had season passes for years and they go 4-5 times a year and she links to my reservation and always chooses the loop. I think she is talking the 1300 loop this year. We will see when we get there.

Ed, I’m jealous. Say “hey” to the Mouse for me. I’m sure he will remember me, I’m the guy who spent too much $$$ last year but was still smiling.

Speaking of too much money, was I just crazy or did I see most nights at Ft. Wilderness are in the 3 digit range? What could possibly be worth upwards of $200 a might for a concrete pad (and utilities)?

Typically, we are at state parks which are almost always beautiful but far less expensive than most commercial parks. We love Disneyworld but sheesh. That seems pretty pricey to me.

Nobody would ever equate anything Disney with the word value. With that said, I think the Fort is worth the cost. It is that nice.

I think you made a BIG leap there. 3 digits yes, but in the ~$100+/night range for some sites, not $200/night.

EDIT: Rates do vary depending upon the season. We avoid the peak rates.

Well, that does sound pretty nice. We may still try it sometime. Have not driven the rig that far yet.

So are the Disney websites still the best place to purchase all the passes?

Or sitting outside the RV with the beverage of your choice listening to the Electrical Water Pageant.

When you look at FW as a CG you will have withdrawal symptoms as the $$$ leave your pocket. BUT when you look at it as an add-on to experiencing more time at the “Happiest Place on Earth” it’s a bargain. It’s also pretty reasonable when you look at the prices of the other Disney properties.
We’ve stayed off property a couple of times and in property hotels 3 times and FW twice. Comparing cost and convenience FW gets the nod, plus it’s just a pleasant place to stay.

Except it's "Where Dreams Come True". DISNEYLAND is "The Happiest Place on Earth"..

It’s definitely not a budget vacation.

We have stayed in value resorts in the past. Now that we have the camper, our trip this summer to Disney will be at the Fort.

It’s still significantly more than our other camping trips. In fact, all of our other trips for the year COMBINED cost less than Disney. It’s a splurge, but we’re looking forward to our Disney trip with our children and relatives (meeting us).
