semi-seasonal site questions

Hello all, haven't been so active on here since winter hit but with spring in sight I now have a question for those who park on a seasonal site.

We live hectic lives so we decided to get a seasonal site at a campground only about 30 minutes from home, allowing for more quick weekend getaways. While we will have this site for the entire season we will be pulling it out and traveling for extended trips further away from home about once a month.

I have never kept a camper open for extended periods so I have a couple questions here.

1.) Slides out when we are not there? I assume this is ok since every dealership seems to keep slides out while they are on the lot.

2.) Can I keep it plugged in and fridge on when we are not there?

3.) Like I said, we will be moving the trailer occasionally so I'm not concerned very much about the tires getting flat spots but I am concerned about the landing gear and stabilizers being extended for a month or more. I have heard graphite dry lube is good to spray on them to protect from corrosion and rust but is it ok to keep them extended for that amount of time? (LCI electric gear)

4.) Any other tips tricks or advice greatly appreciated!

I know with the warmer temps here in PA I'm itching to get away, can't wait.

We had a TT on our own lot for 10 years, and no problem leaving the slide out out for the season. We did support it with two jack stands while it was open. Of course, we closed it up for the winter. Also, the fridge was plugged in the whole season, with some frozen food in the freezer. The stab jacks fare well with a few squirts of lube on the threads.

Personally, I would bring the slides in when your not there. We had a friend who had a squirrel build a nest on his slide out under the topper while he was gone.

As to the fridge, it has been reported it is better to leave it on.

We have a seasonal site on Cape Cod, 2 hours from home. The slides stay out from May to October. I have a residential fridge that stays on all season. My prior camper on the same site had an RV fridge, that stayed powered on shore power all season also. I blast the stabilizers occasionally with a WD40 product, I forget which product exactly. They make many lubricants.

I shut the water off, water heater off, propane tanks off, awning in, furnace off when I leave for the week. I leave the electric on.

I've seen this firsthand. While camping a couple years ago my DW and I watched a squirrel go from branch to roof to under the awning all morning long. When the owner showed up later in the week we let him know.

A good freind has a seasonal setup, like your describing. He leaves his slides out. The power is left on, he turns the water off, leaves the propane on and the frig to auto, so if they loose power while they are gone, nothing spoils. He brings the awning in. He does not have slide toppers. I have never heard him say anything about his electric stabilizers.

I spray my stabilizers with Triflow once a year, it is a faily expensive dry lubricant.

I'm thinking in a few years to do the same. As the new 5ver's were looking at once the kids are gone, is to long for our parking area at home.

We use our trailer on our seasonal site almost every weekend during the season. We pull it out for trips a few times a year. Slide, out, while we're there, in, when we leave. Propane on at the beginning of the season, off at the end. Water and hot water heater off when we leave, we leave power & fridge on always. We lube stabilizers, slideout seals and hinges and locks a couple times a year. Check tire pressures before traveling.
