I have been using that Coleman unit for 35 years or so. It has been reliable, but it takes forever to build pressure. I'm not sure it could reach the 100+ psi of some trailer tires. I only use it for 35 psi car tires.

Cord length is no issue. I bought a 30' extension cord and installed male and female 12v plugs on the ends. Problem solved. It works in any of the 3 outlets in my car.

I would not have clamps because the batteries in my cars are not that accessible and they are coated with rust preventative, so good contact may not be possible.

The optimum would be a 125 psi 120v compressor and use the 120v plug on the trailer.

I use the Viair 70P (85P out now). Struggles/slow pushing air at the higher pressures (50 psi+), but it will get me home or to a gas station to use a 'real' compressor. I wanted something cheaper to just get me through emergencies on the road.
