Basement door latch would not close

After moving the RV a few feet, one of the basement doors came open and would not close. After looking at it for a bit I noticed one of the 4 screws holding the door latch together had fell out and the other 3 were lose which allowed the latch mechanism to slip. This let the gears inside move and would not allow the latch to open fully. Once I had it all back together I decided to check the other latches and found over half were lose. When you guys get bored you might want to check yours.

RV's are subjected to vibration as they go down the road. Buy a tube of Blue Loctite and put a dab on the treads of each screw as you put it back in and you most likely will never have to check those screws for being loose again.

Sounds like a plan. Thanks for the reminder, been a long time since I've needed that.
