Camper Junkyards

I always wondered if there is such a place to junk campers. How about anyone else wonder about that?

They are out there.... list may not be totally up to date, but they do exist. Some auto scrap yards take them too.

Don’t forget to take your disposable rubber gloves with you when you find a yard. A mask is also another consideration

Are you looking to scrap your trailer? If so, maybe you could sell it, because people will buy anything.

Bill, you think an extended warranty would’ve helped

Thanks, I see there are 2 in NY. I know RVs must get too old eventually to sell or trade for a new one.

I was wondering only in order to plan ahead. As of now I am thinking of a toy hauler.

Not necessarily. People buy old rigs and rehab them or just for for the frames and axles if the price is right.

I have one nearby that operates like Pull-a-Part. You find something you want, pull out your tools, grab a wheelbarrow and disassemble, take it up to the office and pay. No need to buy a whole junked trailer.

Rv junkyards

I know there is one in Charlevoix, Michigan. Been there, seen that. Although not a RV junkyard, I personally like Bontrager‘s Rv Surplus in White Pigeon, Mi. They have virtually any rv part/accessory you need.

Compart had a bunch of flooded RVs after Hurricane Ian. Some people use old RVs as accessory dwelling units if they have room for them on their property in areas that will allow it.

Those crap RVs are the ones you see parked permanently on the streets of Seattle and Portland. Cheap housing for the previously homeless.

Add Sacramento to the list.

From reading posts here on how new RV's come with issues right out of the manufactures facility, and take months to get repaired, I'd think it would be best to keep the old one and service it instead.
