Campground CATV
This weekend I stayed in a campground with CATV. So I ran my cable from the hookup in the wet bay to the CG pedestal and went inside to program the dining room TV. Could only get 5 channels. Reprogrammed it with the same result. Tried the bedroom TV with the same result. Asked my neighbor if he was getting any cable channels and he said he couldn’t count them all. I removed my push on connectors and screwed them in directly but ended up with the same result. Double checked to make sure the power booster button was off. I’m scratching my head trying to figure out what’s wrong and am getting ready to contact the office when I decided to look at the CG connector. It was mounted to the base of the electric pedestal with a clamp and had a male to male connector on the end of the CG cable. As I looked closer I found I could turn the CG cable onto the male to male connector at least 5 revolutions before it was tight. Went back into the coach, reprogrammed the TV and magically I had over 80 channels. I’m thinking that the previous RV on that site must have not needed the male end and just used the cable by itself so when they left they just loosely put the connector back on the cable. So beware that not every issue can be blamed on the RV manufacturer.
