caulking shower

Has anyone caulked the shower where the wall meets the shower base? There is a space where water can collect but where does it go?

I don’t think you want to caulk that. It is supposed to remain open so any water that gets behind the shower wall will be able to run into the shower pan.

Thanks, how does water flow into shower base other than to over flow the seam but some water will lay there in seam? Must eventually evaporate..

Just talked to jayco motorized div. Customer service and the shower base extends about 1 1/2 inches up behind the shower wall so caulking seam is optional unless you are concerned about mildew.
