Just Purchased Second Jayco!

We went to the Hershey RV show last year kind of clueless about campers. We had done a little research but didn't really know much about it. As soon as we walked into the show last year we spotted the x17z. Literally, about a minute or two after walking in. We took it as a sign because that is precisely the model we were looking at back home, and it was also about $5,000 less then what our local dealer wanted. We contemplated it, looked at the other manufacturers that had trailers in that size and always compared the other brands to Jayco. That's how we knew that the x17z was for us. We signed on the dotted line, picked it up about a week later and then the camper has been used about 80-90 nights since then but one family member or another.

In that time we have gained more experience and knowledge about all things camping. There is NOTHING like real world experience. We absolutely LOVE the trailer but it definitely falls short in some areas with the main one being storage. The camper is great for my parents because it's small and they don't need to bring a lot. It's a little small for my brother and his family of 4. They end up storing clothes in the shower or the car.

We planned on attending this years show to look for a larger trailer. We have done a TON of research this time around, plus we have one year of experience under our belt. We entered the show on Saturday morning and headed straight for Jayco. We pretty much bypassed every other brand. We were looking for a 29SQB but they only had the 28DSBH in the White Hawk bunk beds. We actually liked the 28 better because it has 2 full beds instead of the 4 narrow beds of the 29. It also had the outdoor bathroom access which is something we REALLY wanted which the 29 didn't offer. (Yes, the 31 offers it but that's getting too big and too heavy)

So my brother was interested in the 28dsbh and my parents were looking at the class c's and possibly trading in the x17z. They really liked the 31FS because of the bunks beds. We inquired about getting a better deal if my parents bought the 31FS and my brother bought the White Hawk. We debated things all day at the show and then into dinner and all night. And then again at breakfast. lol In the end, my parents didn't want to commit to the high payment 31FS right now. So for now, we have 2 Jayco's in the family. An x17z and the 28dsbh. Getting both of these trailers actually works out to be cheaper then getting the class c so that's why we went this route. We will be taking the 4+ hour ride to the dealer in the next week or two to pick the new guy up.

The x17z is already slated to stay a week at a local beach CG for Columbus day week and I'm assuming we will also have new guy out there too! We had already made plans for the family to at least get together for a day on Columbus Day weekend, but with two campers we can all sleep there! There's 7 adults and 5 kids in the family. Plenty of room for all!
