One other tip that help me when first learning to back in. Place your hand on the botom of the steering wheel. The direction your hand moves will now be the dirention your trailer moves!

DW = Dear Wife = Dariling Wife

There is a page somewhere on the site that has a list of acronyums. Of course when I go to look for it I could not find it. But it is here some where.

A while back, a friend sent me this video on how to properly adjust your car mirrors. I don't do this in my truck since it has great mirrors that allow me to see blind spots, etc. but in our regular vehicle, this works really great.

1x on Bowtie's "go slow" comment.
1x on Roy's "plan your exit BEFORE entering"
Swing wider than normal on right turns.
I find most folks will leave you extra room and be a little more polite when you are towing (except when returning to Houston on a Sunday afternoon)

Well I have to give you guys credit for first TT ever and to pull a trailer that is at least 35' bumper to tongue thats a lot of trailer. But I agree with all that has been said take your time you dont need to go 65 or 70 at least till you have a some mile's under your belt use your mirrors and dont forget what is behind you. My brother did forget he had a trailer behind one time but he only forgot once.

Don't feel like you're rowing that boat alone. I remember my first 14ft quad trailer, and the sheer terror I felt trailering my atv's all the way to NM. After about 10 trips or so, you wonder why you were so paranoid...LOL
